Roc Star Studio was the first real world production agency in which I held a regular position. By working with this team, I was able to further hone my skills in Adobe Premiere Pro and was introduced to several other softwares I had not used beforehand. I was also taught how to host live-streams with a three-camera setup.
Editing the documentary-style web series Music On 3 served as a free range for me to experiment with creative approaches, and also deliver effective and provocative pieces of media to various clientele. I also gained hands-on experience with several different camera models and gear.
The music videos I Can't Wait and Strangers served as my professional introduction to music video workflows. I learned how to balance out my vision with what clients wanted and the importance of negotiation and compromises during the process.
Lastly, I edited a three-part PSA series on John B. Drake Elementary School, part of a public school district in the Chicago-area. This project carried stricter deadlines, and I was tasked with organizing and syncing a significantly large amount of material, as well as utilizing what was mostly the same footage across the three pieces, with minimal pick-ups added in. This was the studio's first production outside of their regular music-centered works, and I got to provide the district with a set of media that would persuade residents to enroll their children and partake in school-based activities / events.
